Hi guys! ..

This month I’m leaving you a few days… everyone deserves some vacations I guess! … So, probably around Apr, 10, i’ll be away for something like two weeks, and meanwile i’ll not be able to update the blog or bring new mods.

Since I had decided to travel a little bit, for the past few days and nights I’ve been working on something really special for me, and I belive everyone will enjoy the final product:

As you probably could notice by my model Ascona C (Chevrolet Monza), I am a great GM fan. Not because GM cars are tremendle, but just because I live in a country that we can’t afford to have import cars or sports cars, because they are way too expensive to buy and to run, and there are many taxes that we pay when trying to import some cool and cheap sports car from Asia (for exemple) that make it even expensive and almost impossible to buy.

Because of this, people around here has a great passion for old and simple cars from the 90’s. I have already many models from that age, because there are great cars for a nice price tag, and you get a lot for your money when know how to choose the right car that is in great running condition.

My actual vehicle is an 95′ Chevrolet Vectra A, that was build in Brazil from 1993 to 1996 by a process we call “CKD” > All the parts ware imported from Europe and the car was assembled here, in São Paulo.

I always liked saloon cars, and this model wasn’t exception. In 2012 I found one in excelent conditions for a great price, fully equiped and running smothly, I took it without thinking twice – My previous car was a Opel Corsa 1999! .. Didn’t had a chance against the old Vectra haha.

So, because all of this…… some time ago I was thinking about make it on 3Ds Max, and bring a little from the history of this model to Assetto Corsa, starting from the top of the sports line: The Vectra 4×4 Turbo. Here are some specs from this model, that shares a lot with the Opel Calibra:

28,6mkgf @ 2400rpm

0-100 kph: 6,9 s

… Not bad for a car produced from 1992 to 1996 in Europe! (Not bad at all!)

The Touring Version was equiped with the C20XE engine (NA) and a 5 speed Sequential X-Trac gearbox, and its worldwide knwoed for being one of the most successfull touring cars back in the day.

This is the actual stage of the project, and the progress was amazing for the past 3 days… I can’t wait too see how this will fits on the game.

The brazilian “Marcas” series is basically an Touring Car series, but with some little and interesting things: The cars are always the same, don’t matter the brand and the body; They use the same powertrain and suspension, tyres and brake parts… the competition in this category is one of its kind, and, for me, the best racing serie occurring in Brazil.

I have try my best to keep the cars unchanged, only created a few modifications to use all potential of Assetto Corsa graphics engine and physics. The setup screen is locked, with basic setup already set, and the driver can only changes the final gear ratio, tyres and fuel. The reason I’ve done this, is to eliminate the difference between players who has the ability to create setups and who doesn’t. Everyone races on the same conditions, and the only thing that really matters is the capability to dominate the car and the course to its limits.

Ferrari: the name carries so much weight, even to those who, like me, have never had – nor wanted – a hat with the brand on it. And, my God, the 355 is pretty. It shared almost every dimension with the 348, but the body was all-new and its sculpting had involved a rumoured 1,800 hours of wind-tunnel testing. But there’s little sense of form following function here; it’s too pretty for that. If anything, the 355 has somehow got more attractive in the 19 years since it arrived.

There’s a huge amount of love for the F355, with some claiming it pretty much saved the company from the doldrums in the early Nineties, others that it was the car that finally shifted the old-fashioned and faintly stuffy conviction amongst the Ferraristi that the only ‘proper’ Ferraris were the V12s.

Some, including F1 champion Phil Hill, named it as one of the 10 best Ferraris ever. A landmark car, then, in the story of a legendary carmaker. Not bad for around £55k now.

The Supra MK3 GTT was the ultimate japanese sports car in late 80’s: The Corvette Killer .. Exclusive cars for the japanese domestic market, this machine defined a new era for many 6-inline twin turbocharged engines and was the ‘rebirth’ of one of the greatest japanese sports cars.

Produced between 1988 and 1990, the GTT “GA70” had an 1G-GTEU engine, with 6cc DOHC24v, 1988cc, Twin Turbo, 5 Speed manual gear box, that produced more than 210hp at 6200rpm and 24,5kgfm at 3800rpm. The late GTT “JZA70”, produced between 1990 and 1993 was featuring the updated 1JZ-GTE engine, displacing 2491cc and producing more than 280hp at 6200rpm and 36,3kgfm at 4800rpm, with the same gearbox and bigger turbos. Both cars had double wishbone suspension and limited slip differential.

Also, there is an 3.0 Turbo that was used in JTCC Group A series, with a 7M-GTE engine with a 2 bar CT-26 turbocharger, that produced up to 575hp and 62kgfm @4400rpm. This racing version will be exactly reproduced, both exterior and interior, along with the custom liveries.

For me, they were simply one of the best japanese sports car ever made.

The MK3 Golf represents, here in Brazil, a great piece of Germany automotive culture, maybe one of the most popular and strong car cultures in our market. The brazilian MK3 Golf GTi has a 2 liters “AP” Engine with cross-flow air intake and Multipoint Fuel Injection, producing 114hp at 5400 rpm, with 16,8 kg of torque at 3200 rpm.

This build is already producing a bit more power to reach the same range available in the Alfa Romeo and Abarth 500, so we can combine this ‘Hot Hatches’ on the track.

Fix 1.1: New physics, SQ interior for performance improovement, FMOD Sounds.

The Chevrolet Monza 500EF was a limited edition, top of line, of one of the most popular and successfull cars from GM in Brazil. Was also a tribute to Emerson Fittipaldi, who besides being Bi Champion Formula 1, had just won the traditional 500 Miles Indianapolis back in time.

Known Issues:

At last, here it is the first build of this Civic Ek9 Type-R.

Realistic power output and gear ratios, smooth suspension, street and semi slick tyres.

Soon will be available an Racing version as the GRA EG6.
